Honor Guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

Hey, I found this site onSnopes about the Honor Guards and thought it was interesting, especially since we live in DC.

This is pretty cool. I remember going to see Arlington Cemetary as a kid with my school. Of course we stopped at the Tomb. I had to be so quiet and still, I knew it had to be of some importance but I never really knew the exact significance of all the steps.
It also got me thinking about how this is a tradition that is clearly very significant and full of symbolism in remembrance of the unknown soldiers; however if it is not continued to be practiced, no historian looking back at our traditions would ever know about it. That, in turn, made me think of the traditions that have been lost throughout history. So many of our traditions truly shape our experiences, and in time they will most likely be lost forever.
